Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to by using Coffee. They are deliberately short, because Coffee is a coffee diary and not a bank.

Using the app

You may use Coffee for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. You need to be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13 in any case.

You may not attempt to break into other people's accounts, work around the limits in the app, use it to store anything illegal, or interfere with the service for other people.

Your account

You can start as a guest and turn that into a full account later. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — anyone who has them has your records. Tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.

Guest accounts that go unopened for twelve months are deleted along with their data. That is described in the Privacy Policy, and it is the one case where data disappears without you asking.

What you put in

Your records, notes and photos are yours. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of them. You grant only the narrow permission needed to run the service — to store your content, and to send it back to your own devices.

You are responsible for what you upload. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and do not upload other people's private information.

What the app is worth relying on for

Coffee shows prices in a currency you choose, converted using daily exchange rates from a free public source. Those numbers are for your own interest. They are not financial advice, not accounting, and not accurate enough to file anything with.

Places, addresses and map data come from Apple Maps and are as good as Apple Maps is.

Losing things

Your data is stored on Google's infrastructure and synced across your devices, which makes losing it unlikely — but the app comes with no guarantee that it will always be available or that nothing will ever be lost. If your records matter to you, export them from time to time: Charts → export produces a CSV file you keep yourself.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Account, which erases your data, or simply by deleting the app, which leaves the data on the server until you ask for it to go.

The service may be suspended for an account that is being used to attack the service or other users. Where it is reasonable to do so, you get a warning and a chance to explain first.

The legal minimum

Coffee is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those your local consumer law gives you and which cannot be waived. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Nothing in these terms takes away statutory consumer rights you have where you live.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the app tells you before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Coffee after that means you accept the new version; if you would rather not, delete your account.

Apple

Coffee is distributed through the App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app or for support of it. Apple is, however, entitled to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary, which is a condition of distributing through the App Store.
